Edie Lutnick, Co-Founder and President of The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and author of An Unbroken Bond, spoke at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) and moderated a panel featuring a distinguished group of 9/11 leaders on Thursday, November 13th at 6:30 pm. The program, which was free and open to the public, was held in the Conference Center at the College’s Branchburg Campus.
Edie Lutnick has been called “one of the most powerful and respected leaders in the wider Sept. 11 charitable community” by the Wall Street Journal, and a “hero” by President Obama. The title that resonates most with her however is “Cantor family.”
Panelists included Anthony Gardner, Patricia Reilly, Charles Wolf, Diane Horning, Bill Keegan, and Juliet McIntyre. They are a mix of 9/11 survivors, first-responders, and family members who advocate on behalf of those who lost their lives that day.
For Lutnick and the panelists, their personal losses and experiences not only changed their lives, but the course of history and how the story of 9/11 and its aftermath would be told. They have influenced everything they encountered – – from healing, to charitable giving, to public policy – – and attendees heard firsthand how these extraordinary leaders helped to shape what we see today as the September 11th Memorial and Museum.
Following the panel discussion, Edie signed her book for attendees, with proceeds of the book sale benefitting The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and the RVCC’s Victims of the World Trade Center Scholarship Fund. Earlier in the day, at 1:00 PM on November 13, Edie Lutnick spoke as part of the TD Bank Student Leadership Development Series in the RVCC Atrium to discuss her book An Unbroken Bond.
