Happy International Women’s Day! At Cantor Fitzgerald and our affiliates, we are dedicated to creating the right environment for women to grow and thrive.

When women are given the chance to lead, to innovate and to inspire, we all benefit, and the world becomes a richer place.

By recognizing the achievements of women and championing them wherever we can, we can help to make positive change, not just in business but in our wider communities.

Through our Network of Women (NOW) program, we offer mentoring, training, and career pathways. We hope this will help not just our own employees but create opportunities for women throughout the industry.

We wouldn’t be where we are without the women in our organization. Join us in celebrating them today on International Women’s Day and every day.

Today we remember and honor the victims and survivors of the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing as we commemorate this 30-year anniversary.

#CantorRelief #NeverForget #1993WorldTradeCenterBombing

Through our Charity Day, we assist several organizations involved in disaster relief efforts. In the wake of the Kahramanmaras Earthquake, we are committed to assisting those impacted by this crisis.

The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and BGC Charity Day announced additional support to the Turkey Moziak Foundation’s Kahramanmaras Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund. The Turkey Mozaik Foundation has been a beneficiary of BGC Charity Day for several years. The Foundation will help survivors recover from the devastating effects of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Gaziantep / Kahramanmaras and surrounding regions in Turkey on February 6, 2023.

Help us help others by donating now.

Happy International Women’s Day! Today at Cantor Fitzgerald and our affiliates we recognize the many ways that women are integral to the growth, innovation, and success of our companies and the wider financial services community.

We are proud of the accomplishments women have and continue to make both in business and in their lives. The challenges these past two years have presented have not been easy. We applaud the strides women have made in the face of these obstacles. Our Network of Women (NOW) delivers mentoring, networking, education, and career pathways both for women within our business and throughout the wider financial sector. This is part of our unwavering commitment to providing a diverse, inclusive, safe, and healthy workplace.

The women in our industry drive change and innovation each and every day. Today, on International Women's Day, we hope you will join us, not only in recognizing and saluting women, but empowering them to grow, lead, mentor, be philanthropic, aspire, and inspire. When women are given an environment in which to thrive, we all succeed.

On February 26, the anniversary of the first World Trade Center bombing, we will pay our respects to the families of the victims and to the survivors. September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993 will forever be united. We in the 9/11 community stand with you in memory. We send our thoughts and prayers as we remember.

We will never forget.

The History Channel is currently showing “15 Septembers Later,” a documentary marking the 15th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.  The documentary premiered on Monday, September 5th at 9:00 p.m. EDT.

The film examines the historic events of that day, bringing to bear declassified audio and video footage that emerged since September 11, 2001.  The documentary is thought-provoking, however some of the footage can be graphic.

The portion of the documentary dedicated to The Cantor Fitzgerald story features interviews with Howard Lutnick, Edie Lutnick, and Harry Waizer, a Cantor employee who survived life-threatening injuries during the attacks.  The Cantor story can be seen about an hour in, at approximately 01:05 to 01:10.

On Sunday, September 18th, 2016, The New York Times highlighted The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund’s 2016 Charity Day in print and online, with a 9-photo feature.  Click here to read the full article.

The Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) makes it impossible for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, or any other entity, to claim that as a sovereign it is immune from any legal responsibility for its role in the 2001 terror attacks.  This legislation is imperative in the efforts to finally see justice for the 9/11 victims.  Led by Senators John Cornyn (R-TX) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and their staff, JASTA was passed by the U.S. Senate unanimously on May 17, 2016.

The passage of JASTA is currently pending in the House of Representatives for consideration.  We ask the one hundred thousand 9/11 victims and their family members for their assistance in pushing for JASTA’s passage in the house.  To support JASTA, it is essential that each person do the following:

1. Contact (in person, by phone, email, or mail) your incoming Congress man or woman (the person elected to start in January) and urge him or her to pass JASTA immediately in the new Congress.  You can find the contacts here.  Please visit the JASTA website for details, phone numbers, and suggested language, plus current news and progress JASTA is making.

2. Encourage each family member (parent, siblings, children, cousins, nieces/nephews, or grandparent/grandchild) to contact their Congress men and women and urge the passage of JASTA.  Each of you should state that no one (country, entity, or person) should have immunity for providing the material support al-Qaeda needed to mount the 9/11 attacks.  We believe that all countries, persons or organizations who supported al-Qaeda should be held responsible.

Thank you for your time and consideration in helping us with JASTA.  “Not every terrorist kills for money, but money is needed for terrorists to kill.” – Terry Strada, National Chair, 9/11 Families & Survivors United for Justice Against Terrorism

H.E.A.R.T 9/11 is a charity that Cantor Relief continuously supports through Charity Day.  They are a group of first responders that use their experience and training to aid those affected by disaster in honor of those lost in 9/11.

25 members of H.E.A.R.T 9/11 will be responding from the FDNY and NYC Building Trades Local 79.  Help us support this amazing organization by donating here.  The goal is to build 100 houses in 5 days in Ecuador.  Any donation will go a long way!

Event date: November 16th

On Friday evening, the world witnessed another set of incomprehensible attacks against a city filled with people simply going about their lives. In an instant, so many innocent men and women were brutally killed or injured by terrorists. For this to happen in Paris – a vibrant city known for light, life, and love – is beyond all measure of tragedy. As 9/11 Memorial Chairman, Michael Bloomberg, noted, these are “despicable acts of terrorism that only strengthen our resolve to defeat forces of fear and hatred.”

In a show of support for the people of Paris, the National September 11 Memorial will hold a gathering as we stand united with France at the 9/11 Memorial on Monday, November 16 at 2:30 p.m. (#UnitedwithFrance) to pay tribute to those who were killed in the Paris terrorist attacks, those who were injured, and the first responders who confronted terror and tragedy with incredible bravery. We welcome all those who wish to pay their respects and show support for France during this difficult time.

The gathering will take place near the Survivor Tree on the Memorial. If you plan to attend the gathering, please arrive no later than 2:15 p.m. Items of tribute such as flowers in blue, white, and red will be distributed and you are also welcome to bring your own personal tributes to place at the Memorial and share your messages of support online using #UnitedwithFrance. There is no more fitting site to demonstrate the solidarity between our two nations, and I encourage you to join us.

In the wake of these attacks in Paris, it’s difficult to avoid the painful memories of 9/11. For the people of the United States, and particularly for those of us here in New York, who have also experienced tremendous loss on our own soil, it’s important to remember the strength we can share with each other and how much of a force for good we can be when united. After 9/11, so many nations reached out to support our country, and now, it’s our turn to demonstrate the solidarity between the U.S. and France. In the face of utter depravity, we stand together for Paris, united through compassion and kindness.

Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day 2014

Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day was held this year on Thursday, September 11, 2014. We raised approximately $12 million, and donated 100% of our global revenue to over 40 charities worldwide.

The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund

The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund (www.cantorrelief.org), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, was founded on September 14, 2001, with a $1 million personal donation from Cantor Fitzgerald Chairman and CEO, Howard W. Lutnick. Since then, the fund has raised and distributed approximately $369 million to support families impacted by acts of terrorism, emergencies, natural disasters as well as direct service charities, and wounded members of our military. 100% of all donations are distributed in direct financial aid. Contributions to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund are tax-deductible to the full extent permitted by law. The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund’s United States tax identification number is 13-4189179.
