SOME OF OUR PROJECTS:

When disaster strikes, we ensure relief reaches the people who need it most. We raise direct financial assistance, we organize and distribute funds, and we provide volunteers from our colleagues at Cantor Fitzgerald and our affiliates. We work globally with charities to ensure families and individuals are given the dignity and financial support they need to repair, rebuild and thrive.

On February 11 & 12, 2018, The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund held the Hurricane Harvey Family Relief distribution event. It was the largest distribution of its kind in the Relief Fund’s history, giving a total of approximately $5 million to those families hardest hit by Hurricane Harvey.

We pledged to help families affected by the May 20, 2013, tornado in Moore, Oklahoma, the same way that we helped those impacted by Superstorm Sandy. Our team of volunteers and employees travelled to Oklahoma to distribute $1,000 prepaid debit cards to each family who had a child enrolled in the Moore Public School district whose house was damaged or destroyed by the tornado.

In 2013, Cantor Fitzgerald, BGC Group, and the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund committed $10 million to families in the New York area who were severely affected by Superstorm Sandy. We adopted 19 elementary schools in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Staten Island and New Jersey, providing $1,000 prepaid debit cards for immediate assistance to nearly 10,000 families with children enrolled in these schools.

We distributed $4 million in direct financial aid to approximately 4,000 families who are still recovering after Hurricanes Maria and Irma devastated the island.

On January 13, 2019, The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund volunteers went to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Relief Fund distributed direct financial aid to approximately 4,000 families who are still recovering after Hurricanes Maria and Irma devastated the island in August and September 2017.

More than 200 volunteers from Cantor Fitzgerald and its affiliate companies BGC Group and Newmark Knight Frank, along with New York community volunteers and clients from Scotiabank and Banco Santander, distributed a total of $4 million at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum.

The Relief Fund worked directly with the office of San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz to organize the effort and identify the families in need.

The Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund led this effort thanks to a generous grant from the firms and partners of Cantor Fitzgerald, The Newmark Group, and BGC Group, along with donations from the general public. Allison and Howard Lutnick, along with Edie Lutnick, Founder and President of the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, worked with Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner’s office to make the program a reality.

The Relief Fund could not have achieved this without the invaluable efforts of school officials and administrators from across 15 school districts covering over 200 Houston-area schools. They worked to identify the 5,000 families who lost the most and now need the most.

Allison Lutnick, Director of Disaster Relief Operations, Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund said: “Our hearts go out to the families of Houston who have been displaced by and are struggling to recover from Hurricane Harvey. No parent should be faced with the inability to provide for their children: a toy to play with, a book to read or sheets for their bed. We are honored and humbled to have provided important aid and support to Houston’s wonderful and resilient mothers and fathers through the Relief Fund.” Read the multimedia press release here.
